History

The Crown and Horseshoe Football Club was founded in 2006. A group of friends that
regularly drink in the Crown & Horseshoe public house came up with the idea of
starting a 11-a-side team after many years playing in the local 5-a-side league.
With backing from the pub landlord Craig Thatcher and local businessman Alex
Barton of Luxury Wheels, funds were made available to make the dream come reality.

Matthew Evans took on the responsibility of managing the team with help from others, and over a short period of time put everything in place to make things possible.
The first ever game was away at Bristol Rovers Fans Forum. Crown and Horseshoe went on to win all 5 pre-season friendly fixtures and grew in confidence going into the first ever league fixture in the Roper Rhoades Bath & District League 5.

During the first season 2006/07 Crown and Horseshoe were on the fringe of promotion all season but a run of bad results towards the end of the season proved costly.
2007/08 Season saw the Crown & Horseshoe enter the Cup competitions and saw them reach the Semi Finals of the Secretary's KO Cup, where they were knocked out by ABS Sports (1-2). The league campaign turned out to be very inconsistent, and towards the end of the season key injury's proved costly and the Crown finished 4th in Division 4.
