TALBOT COME UP TRUMPS 20th August 2007 Talbot Wanderers turned on the style in the second half to beat Crown and Horseshoe 4 goals to nil at Manor Road. The game proved a good test going into Sundays all important first game of the 2007/08 season. The Crown came close on a number of occasions, however the Division 2 outfit took advantage of tired legs in the second half to score 4 goals. | ||||||||||||||||||

NEW GAFFER ANNOUNCED 29th August 2007 Simon James has been handed the role of Manager of Crown & Horseshoe FC for the new season. Matt Evans decided to stand down because of personal reasons. Everyone associated with C&HFC would like to thank Matt for his efforts. | ||||||||||||||||||

TALBOT TAKE ON CROWN 29th August 2007 Crown and Horseshoe will wrap up their pre-season schedule against local neighbours Talbot Wanderers. Talbot are currently in Division 2 and will provide a good test at Manor Road on Thursday night. | ||||||||||||||||||

LONGREACH THUMP CROWN 19th August 2007 Longreach Athletic produced an emphatic display at the expense of Crown & Horseshoe in Almondsbury. The hosts took a 3-0 half time lead against a injury hit C&HFC, however the game was marred by a serious injury to the Longreach number 9. Longreach continued to put away their chances ending the game 5-0 victors. The friendly was a good opportunity for the Crown to field a number of trialists. Next up Talbot. | ||||||||||||||||||

FACES LATE FITNESS TEST

David Sams, Crown & Horseshoes defender, is battling to be fit
to make the away friendly match against Longreach Athletic on
Sunday 19 August. The 23-year-old rising star left thigh was heavily bandaged following his tear in training last Thursday. Initially, Sams had said he would be fit enough to play in Sunday’s away draw with Cuba Ice, but he was being over optimistic. |

FRIENDLY'S START WITH DRAW

Crown and Horseshoe kicked off the 2007/08 pre-season with a 4-4
draw against Cuba Ice. Goals from Backholer, Kessler, Tate and
Bowden secured a well deserved draw in Knowle.

SIMON JAMES INJURY WORRY
2nd August 2007
The veteran striker suffered a bruised shin when tackling a team
mate in last weeks training session as part of C&HFC's
pre-season training schedule. The 28-year-old was forced to limp out and is now a doubt for the start of the season, although it is not yet known how serious the bruising is. |

GENERAL MEETING 1st August 2007 Club Secretary and Manager today attended the league general meeting in Manvers Street Church. As a result of this meeting it was discovered Landsdown PF will be unavailable for the scheduled friendly against Jazz Sports because the pitch is deemed unfit to play on. | ||||||||||||||||||
